Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), in collaboration with Belavia Air, held a Maldives–Belarus Connectivity Webinar on 10 September 2026 to connect Maldivian tourism partners with Belarusian travel trade ahead of the planned launch of direct flights in December 2026.

The session was delivered with Belavia Air, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MOTCA) and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). It drew 100 Belarusian travel trade representatives, alongside representatives from 06 Maldivian tourism establishments comprising four resorts, one DMC and one guest house. The Maldivian participants outlined their accommodation, experiences and services.

Belavia Air presented details on the forthcoming Belarus–Maldives direct connectivity and flight operations. Participants also received insights on the Belarusian travel market, including travel patterns, existing accessibility and opportunities to promote the Maldives to Belarusian travellers.

An interactive Q&A closed the webinar, with Belavia Air, Maldivian partners and the Belarusian trade discussing topics such as the Maldives’ diverse tourism offerings, local island tourism, affordable luxury options, general destination information, international and domestic air connectivity and tourism taxes, as well as traveller preferences and ways to build awareness and demand before services begin.
