Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do much the same thing. Some are needed for a site to work at all; others watch how it is used or follow visitors between sites. This one keeps to the first category, with a single stored preference.

Your cookie choice. When you answer the banner, we store that answer in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask again on every page. It holds the choice and the date you made it, nothing else.

Administrator sign-in. A session cookie is set when somebody signs into the content administration area. It is strictly necessary, it is never set for ordinary visitors, and it is cleared on sign-out.

No advertising or analytics cookies. At the date above, this site sets none. If we add analytics later, this page and the banner will say so before anything is set, and the choice will be yours.

Our typefaces are served from our own domain rather than a font network, so no request leaves your browser to load them.

Maps. Each property page embeds a map from OpenStreetMap. Loading it sends your IP address and browser details to that service, which is governed by its own privacy policy.

WhatsApp. The chat button is an ordinary link. Nothing is shared until you tap it, at which point WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the conversation.

Social and video embeds. Where we embed content from Instagram or a similar platform, that platform may set its own cookies once the embed loads.

Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the stored preference, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies for individual sites, or for all of them, under its privacy settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the administration area working, but will not affect the public site.
